5. The one entry from my journal I would like to share and consider notable is my Eulogy Poem. My Eulogy Poem was made so that my family would know what to do or think and keep them from feeling treibbably heart broken if something happened to me.

E nevelop my love around you

6.  Blessings .... we may not know what blessings are exactly, but we can all agree they are a great thing to be given on a daily basis.  I would like to share some of the blessings that I have given to my friends and family.
     My Mom always tells me that the way I help and influence people, I am always touching their lives and inspiring them to do things they never thought they could do or would never have thought of before.  When I think about this, it does make sense to me because I always try to help people find their inner strength and voice to help them feel confident in themselves, and to also realize when the odds are against them, to always be strong, never given without a fight.
     For example, when I was young, my mom and dad and I went to a special hospital to look at some medical results reflecting my neck and back to see what they looked like though an MRI point of view.  My mom and dad were the only ones that saw the pictures while I waited outside the room.  And believe me, it wasn't pleasant waiting for the final news.  When my parents finally came out of the room, the expressions on their faces were like nothing I had ever seen before.  My Mom told me that the pictures showed my spine, at C1 in my neck area was being compressed, cutting the blood flow to a minimum.  I broke out in tears finding out this information, especially being told that I could not walk anymore for my safety.   However, this did not stop me from staying on the positive side.  True, I became wheel chair bound, but that did not mean I couldn't do exciting things with my friends and my family no matter how difficult it was.  Knowing this, I realized I have touched so many people's lives by showing them that even a young girl, whose spine is being compressed,  can still function and move about like any other average human.
     There were alot of things I had to do differently.  But that did not bother me, because I knew that alot of other handicapped individuals have the same difficulties as I do.  I hope that my story will inspire them and other people that no matter what, when the odds are against you, stay true to yourself and always remain positive.  Things will tend to go much smoother and easier for them, no matter how difficult they are.

7. I am not sure of what I would write in the future because I do not write very often. It amazes me at how the creative the mind can be if it has a long enough time to think. With this creative writing I am able to expand my creative thoughts but other times I was limited on what to write.

8. I encourage my fellow writers to countinue writing on the blogs and thier jounrnals because they may never know who they will inspire in the futrure.

             

Reflection Post

1. I wrote an "I am " poem describing who and what I am. Where a would like to go. Where I want to go. What I like and dislike. What I imagine. And what my favorite foods are. This poem was my very first post I had written for my blog and I am proud of it. The second thing I did was paint a picture reflecting a certain line from one of my favorite songs by Celtic Women. The song is very inspirational to me. The third thing I did was I wrote a Haiku that descried what a picture looked like using words that would fit the syllables required for the poem.

2. I read several other students "I am" poems, they were very descriptive, they had alot of detail, and I found that a couple of studrentsand I had several things in common. The second thing I read was a poem that was written by ee cummings, titeled " i carry your heart with me" It reminded me of my mom and how much I love her and knowing how she will always be there for me and I will always be there for her. This poem also reminds me of how we will always be ther for each other because our love for each other is so strong it can never be broken.

3. When I first started my blog I was kind of nervious because it was something I had never done before. It was easy come up with my title. My mom had alwayls told me I have a very creative mind. I believe my mom and my aunt and Mrs. A have read my blog. I would want my whole family to read my blog so I could hear their thoughts about my posts. I will continue writing on my blog and talk about exciting events that have occured or disscuss certain things I might do in the future and many other things.

4. I am not much on journaling. I mainly just wrote what was assigned to me. I wrote peoms, drew pictures, and made charts in it. I am not sure who I would want to read it, and I am not sure if I will countinue to write in it, but that does not mean I would not want to write down my ideas or post them on my blog.

I remember my dad taking me to Mnt. Lemon to look at the snow. We would make snowballs and throw them to the other side of the bank that we were standing on. The snow was soft and white. It was an exciting trip to see snow in the mountains for the first time. We would suck on the snowballs because it was like a snow cone.

2. What are 3 tips you would give parents of teenagers?
  1. Allow them to make their own choices, yet help them when needed.
  2. Have them earn your trust
 3. If you think their not telling the truth question them again. Then tell them if their not telling the truth there will be serious consequences.

5. How old do you think someone should be to date?
They should be 20 or 21. Because they would Be at the maturity level to understand the basics of being an adult. That they know what would be excepted of them from the adult point of view. They would be responsible enough to make adult decisions.
How old to fall in love?
19 or 20. Because falling in love to early could cause difficulty in the future.

7. Can you know in three days that you love someone?
No Because you want to make sure you can trust this person. To learn their likes and dislikes, and see what you have in common to make the relationship will go smoothly with very few complications.

8. Marie wants a book that "pulls her in." Which would you suggest?
Black Beauty. Because It shows how an animal had trust in its owners and distrust of other owners. Then learning ti trust again.
Hedi because it talks about a young girl named Hedi who becomes so attached to her mountain home with her grandfather that when she is taken to a new home to be with a handicapped girl she struggles to maintain a composed, appropriate state of mind but over time things become more complicated and she starts walking in her sleep.

The Language of Flowers/ Purple

Song Lyrics

    Songs... Do you like songs?  Let me share with you a certain phrase from lyrics that come from one of my most favorite and treasured songs.  It was sung by my favorite singing group, Celtic Women.  The phrase goes as follows:
     "Far off in the distance a flame is rising high.
          Burning through the shadows and the dark,
       Burning soft and bright,
          Dancing with the light.
       Here to wake the Heavens and the Earth"

These words are so precious to me because they remind me of the rising sun
breaking through the night, bringing hope and life to our planet.  When I think of darkness, it brings nothing but loneliness, pain, and sorrow.  These words also remind me of one special, particular individual who sacrificed His life, upon which brought despair and fear upon the land.  However, He rose up again with the rising Sun, bringing back hope, love, and happiness.  For He is our Heavenly Father, King Jesus.  I could not ask for a better Father to rely on or depend on to help me when I am down.  That is the greatest gift and blessing to ever be given or receive.





Teachers Responses to Music Questions

     I asked Mrs. "S" what music reminds her of her childhood, she replied "The Sound of Music" , the Monkeys, and the Beatles.  When she said the "Sound of Music", it surprised me because I also loved the movie "The Sound of Music".

Her favorite singer.group/song was "How Long" by Ace.  This song reminds Mrs. "S" of her boyfriend in college and all the wonderful times they had together.

     Mrs. "F" told me that the band "Fun" reminded her of her little boy.  "Wonderful Night" reminds her of her husband.  And, Kenny Rogers reminds her of her dad.    She loves to go to concerts!  Lady GaGa was a special girlfriends' trip.  It was perfect because Lady GaGa is very artistic and crowd was really crazy!  So fun! 

Jack Johnson was her second most memorable concert because the focus was on his lyrics.  It was a 3 hour concert without any breaks!  He sang the whole time, and then joined singing with a Hawaiian

female vocalist.  Their music and lyrics promoted a sense of peace.  At the end,

he also sang 4-5 songs acoustically.

 I talked with Mrs. "K" about radio stations.  She normally listens to FM88.3, The Wind, and 105.9.  She does like to sing along as she listens.

when Mrs. "K" was young, KISS and ACDC were very controverseal and offensive.  Nowadays, she doesn't like rap because the words and meanings of most of these songs are very offensive.  But if it comes to one singer that she really dislikes and absolutely turns the radio off to, it would be Madonna.

Music Influences

     I love listening to music because it gives me a source of freedom and energy.  The reason why I feel this way is because music is such an important art of my life that if I feel sad, or need cheering up, music is always the key thing to make me feel better.
      I could not imagine life without music.  It plays an important role when we dance, in our movies, and when we sing songs.  If we didn't have music, all of those things would never be the same, and life would be extremely dull.
     The two types of music that I am not comfortable with are Rap and Pop.  Sometimes there is unpleasant language.  The language is sometimes inappropriate and can be a bad influence for alot of kids going into their adult years.

Famous Lines From Famous Novels

Famous Line #1: Through the fence, betwen the curling flower spaces, I could see them hitting.
This line comes from a novel "The Sound and the Fury", written by William Faulkner, 1897-1962. He is know for writing many other works, including "A Fable" and "The Reivers" (1962) which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.



This novel is a story about a family whose reputation has declined over the years. The main characters are Benji, Caddy, Jason, and Quentin. It's divided into 4 sections, displaying different point of view from the three brothers and the author.

Critic's Review: Brook Allen. This is a difficult, complicated, obscure, and discontinuous novel.
Faulkner's works have been placed with the traitions of modernism and the Southern Renaissance.

I probably wouldn't like to read this book because of the amount of time it would take to read it,
due to the fact there are four sections. Although, it does sound like an interesting story. It shows the different personalities of each character. It shows how the boys are different from eaach other, because one is sensible out of the three. The other two are mind lacking in education and sensibility.
It was a crushing story.

Novel: The House at Pooh Corner by Alan Alexander Milne. Mr. Milne published this book in 1926. He is an English author who has published Winnie the Pooh and a poem called "When We Were Very Young.

This is a story about two friends, Pooh and Piglet, coming together to make a house for a fellow friend, Eyore. They find a pile of sticks that they can use to build the house. However, when they tried to put the house together, they were unsuccessful. Pooh went with Tigger, a tiger, to tell their donkey friend, Eyore, that Pooh would be willing to let Eyore live in his house. Leaving Piglet all by himself by the pile of sticks, they returned later with their friend Christopher Robin and saw that Piglet had built a tent shaped house all by his little self. He also had created a sign for Eyore in order to help him remember where his house would be. The sign said, "Pooh Corner."
The critic's review shared that this is an example of a sequel in which there seems to be no let down and from all sides, one catches echoes of the most joyous reaction to it.

The reason why I would read this book is because it talks about friendship and how there are many ways you can help a friend no matter how difficult or complicated the situation may be. It is also because it is fun, imaginative, and full of adventure. Kids and adults would love this book and many more of the Winnie the Pooh Books.

Memorable Passage

The one book that really melted to my heart is called "Winter's Tail" by Hatkoff.  It's a story about a young baby dolphin that got trapped in a crab trap and lost her tail in the process.  She was saved by a group of humans that worked at a place called Clearwater Marine Aquarian.  They have raised and cared for her ever since then.

The reason why this story inspired me is because this little dolphin never gave up on her life, even when she didn't have her tail and had to learn how to swim all over again.  She taught herself how to swim by moving the remaining part of her tail side to side, however, it would not last for very long because a dolphin's spine is not built for moving side to side.  The body movement has to be up and down, otherwise it could damage her veretbrae or potentially kill her.

This is a special paragraph from the book that describes how special and famous sweet little Winter became.  As quoted in the book:

     "When Winter was about a year old, NBC's The Today Show broadcast a story about her on television.  Now the word was out.  Winter was famous.  People started to come indroves to visit her at  the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.  The charming young dolphin also started to receive letters from her n ew fans, including many people who knew someone who had, or had themselves, lost or been born without a limb or had other disabilities.  Everyone could relate to Winter.  Winter seemed to be able to overcome any obstacle..."

It amazes me how an animal can become handicapped, although humans are the ones handicapped.  Even an animal like Winter, with disabilities, can overcome any situation no matter how difficult or
how hard it may seem!   It also amazes mehow one little dolphin can inspire and touch the live of
so many other handicapped individuals.



What I Don't Want To Forget

I don't want to forget how precious and valuable life can be. Although at times I feel like it isn't. Especially when there are things we take for granted, and we don't realize it until we lose them. Then, I try to remind myself to stop and think about why I was given life. And how important it is to embrace it while it lasts. By embracing the freedom and enjoying the wonders that life has to offer.

Fantasy Dream

My fantasy dream would be to find a cave inside a cliff; filled with sparkly gems and crystals throughout the cave. The deeper you go the more gems you find. Finally, you come to a big room with a magic waterfall. This waterfall has the unique ability to turn anything old or dull into something enchanting. It also has the ability to create crystals out of pebbles or stones. When I came close to the water, it flowed around me  turning me into Princess SparkleWorth. I became the guardian of the cave. I was wearing a sparkly crown and the most bejeweled dress I had ever seen. 

 

                                          

Languages

I don't speak another language, but if I could I would like to speak Japanese.  Alot of shows that I like to watch are from Japan but are not always completely dubbed in English.  To learn Japanese I would use Rosetta Stone in order to speak the language properly in the right format.  I wouldn't feel comfortable living in Japan to learn how to speak their language because I would get nervous of making a mistake. I wouldn't want to address someone if I didn't know how to address them in a mature manner.

Angelou Thoughts

I have the power to fight adversity because I always try to keep in mind to always look on the bright side of things, have a positive outlook on the outcome, and always remain true to what I think is right. I believe in standing by on the law of justice, goodness, and truth.

It's true that alot of people may think they don't have this power or they don't feel like they are strong enough to stand on their own.  Everyone should know they are stronger than they think, if they truely believe in themselves, follow their hearts, and listen to their inner voice.

If these individuals take my advice to heart, they will always have confidence and a peace of mind if they just stay on the right side.  Things will always tend to go their way, and the future will always be bright; filled with freedom.  You always feel free if you stay on the right side.

Ending a Dream

"I feel like my mind is melting like a popsicle when I dream this horrible nightmare"........
This one nightmare repeats itself quite a bit. When there's something involving my family in my dream, I am right in the middle of a dark area with a light shining on me. In front of me there is a lighted path.

 

I start to follow it until I reach a dividing point where it separates into two different paths. Up ahead I see two more spotlights on either side: My mom underneath one and my dad underneath the other. This indicates that because my parents are separate, that I am forced to choose one or the other, and their is no alternate path to take.
